Helping families understand school fit and what helps children thrive.

Hi, I’m Lauren.

I’m an educator with over 20 years of experience in public and independent schools across the D.C. metro area. I hold a Master’s in Elementary Education, and I’ve also founded and led a learner-centered microschool in Northern Virginia.

I’m also the mother of two teens.

I help families understand why their child isn’t thriving—and what to do about it—by looking at both the school environment and the home environment.

I don’t believe the goal is for kids to just be “fine.”

I believe the goal is for them to thrive—to feel known, capable, and engaged in their own lives.

That doesn’t come from one perfect school or one perfect strategy. It comes from understanding the full picture of a child and creating the right environment around them.

Who I Help

I work with families who feel like something about their child’s learning or school experience isn’t quite working—and want clarity on what to do next.

Whether you are:

  • Trying to decide if your child’s current school is the right fit

  • Navigating a transition and exploring more aligned school options

  • Looking to better understand what your child needs to thrive at home and at school

I help you step back, see the full picture, and move forward with clarity and confidence.

My Approach

  • Over 20 years of experience in public and independent schools across the D.C. Metro area

  • Founder of a learner-centered microschool

  • Grounded in a whole-child, environment-focused perspective

  • Deep listening paired with practical, actionable guidance

I believe every child’s experience is shaped by the environments around them—school, home, and everything in between—and that small shifts in alignment can create meaningful change.

What Happens in a Session

We’ll begin by talking through your child—who they are and what you’re noticing.

I’ll help you step back and see the bigger picture, reflect what I’m hearing, and guide you through options that truly fit your child and your family.
